The new issue of Wired was waiting at home last night. As the build-up of hype contines around the May release of Matrix Reloaded, they've got a cool cover story about visual effects producer John Gaeta. He won an academy award for his work on the first Matrix film and looks to be setting the bar even higher this time around.
Gaeta got his start in the visual effects industry working for VFX pioneer Douglas Trumbull, the visionary behind the effects for 2001 and Blade Runner.
"I was awestruck working with Doug because he was so fearless," Gaeta recalls. "He'd say, 'This camera doesn't exist yet, but we're going to make one. This screen doesn't exist, but we'll build it. Then we'll invent a new format.' Doug was innovating constantly."UNWIRED: Wired also publised an extra magazine this month all about the latest trends in the wi-fi revolution.
