After about a month and a half of downtime, stevesmart.com is back online.
In addition to a redesign of the presentation layer, the biggest change to this site is on the backend. I've moved all my content from a homebrew CMS built in ASP and Access and hosted on IIS to the powerhouse that is MoveableType. This change also required a hosting move to a provider that would offer PHP, Perl and MySQL support. I'm pleased to say that DreamHost more than fits the bill. So far, their service has been excellent.
I'm still tweaking some of the content so expect things to look strange for a while. I still need to work on the category and master archive pages although the individual entry pages look pretty good. Also, I've turned off all the Photo of the Day entries until I can get those working again. I need to find al the photos I lost when my last host provider crashed. Damn! Also, I don't yet have any of my DV short films reposted. Soon, I hope...
Stay tuned... I'm very excited about using MT and look forward to growing this site even more.
welcome back steve!
Thanks, man.
I'm enjoying your photos from Iraq. Stay safe.
