It's now less than 48 hours until the opening of Return of the King and the advance word on this final film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy has been through-the-roof. I noticed tonight that there is already a listing for ROTK on MetaCritic which currently (as of 9:56pm CST) lists ROTK as having a perfect score. That's right, a 100.
On MetaCritic's list of all time highest rates films, the only other 100 rating belongs to the Godfather. Now, obviously, MetaCritic has not yet captured all of the reviews that will appear on Wednesday the 17th when the movie opens, but I'm wondering how long that 100 will last? Based on some other reviews I've read and the very favorable buzz that's been gathering around ROTK, I believe that the final score will certainly be in the upper 90's.

Also, LordoftheRings.net has a cool, new video feature about the creation of the digital horses for ROTK. You can find a link to the quicktime video here.
While I don't belive it deserves the perfect 100 score, I would have to put the Kevin Smith features Dogma and Silent Bob and Jay Strike back right up there. Jayson Mewes is this milleniums Cary Grant-a versitile actor who can play both serious and comedic roles. Of course, Cary Grant actually played other characters and not just himself all the time, but due must be given where it is due.
