Well, after 14 issues, the online photography showcase 28mm.org is closing its doors. It's a shame to loose this great site that features inspiring and creative photography from around the world, but as a part-time operation I gather it was simply taking too much of founder and editor Rachel James' time to keep it running at such a high-level.
I was proud to have some of my photography featured in the second-to-last issue.
I'm always inspired by the tenacity of folks who undertake to launch sites like this just... because. Just because they love it the topic at hand and have a passion for it. They are not always undertaking such projects as a way to generate revenue (not that that's a bad thing) but rather because they feel they just need to. I certainly hope that other online photo mags can rise up to fill the void left by 28mm.org.
