Has it really been 10 years!?
Pixar has announced the details of the upcoming special edition DVD celebrating the tenth anniversary of Toy Story. And, while I freely admit that I'm a total Pixar whore and will buy this DVD set just as sure as I'm sitting here, I still find myself thinking "another special edition box set?"
I have several vanilla DVDs in my collection that have expired shelf lives due to new, slick special edition sets that have come out in the mean time. Two that come immediately to mind are A Bug's Life and The Fith Element. Both of these I bought right away in their plain jane version. Now both have 2 disk special editions available. As a DVD watcher, I'm really more into the behind-the-scenes extras and commentary tracks than I am the movies themselves. In fact, 99 times out of 100 I will only watch a movie on DVD with the commentary playing.
