I've been playing with Skype a bit lately with a friend at work while looking for new ways to make long distance phone calls, record podcasts remotely, and heck.. even find free (or very inexpensive) ways to video chat.
Skype is a great tool for audio phone calls, with really excellent quality, but until this report on the Share Skype blog, there had been no word about video chat. I can't wait to see how this looks. Having far flung family and friends it could come in really handy. And at work, we could use something like this during staff meeting since we are scattered among several offices.
In related news, Skype has been giving away free minutes to entice customers for Skype Out. Also, Skype has a developers blog.
