I've been experimenting this week with how best to display the "smartLinks" content of this site. I tend to do more smartLink posting than anything else (64 posts in August) but I felt that they were always a bit lost over on the right column. Plus, if you didn't visit the actual smartLinks page you didn't get a chance to read all the text that describes why I chose to include a particular link.
So, all that being said, this page is now a blend of my main blog and the smartLinks sub-blog. (To accomplish this blend I'm using the MTMultiBlog and MTCompare plug-ins) SmartLink posts have a slightly smaller headline size and are preceded by an icon meant to signify an external-facing link.
So far, I'm liking this new arrangement, it's very kottke-esque. And I think it will give readers a chance to see some things around the web that I find cool, interesting or helpful.
