I was cleaning off an old hard drive last weekend from my first Mac (goodbye Performa 6214, you will always be loved) when I was reminded that once upon a time I had a wild hair and attempted to create the Millennium Falcon completely in Bryce. Bryce! I'm not sure what I was thinking.
For those not in the know, Bryce is a tool once developed by MetaCreations, that primarily is used to generate fractal landscapes and skies. It's still alive, actually, and the current version is now 6 and it's available from Daz software.
Here's a glimpse of how far I got:

All things considered, it's actually not half-bad, even without any texture maps, despite that fact that it was completely unwieldy as a 3d mesh and would take forever to animate and render.
This is not too bash Bryce at all. In fact, quite the contrary, it was the only 3d tool I used in the creation of my own little Star Wars mash up: Recon3. She may not look like much kid, but she's got it where it counts.
