Hi all, this is an age old discussion that I'm sure has been covered elsewhere before. But, can anyone recommend an easy and inexpensive way to convert a Powerpoint slide deck to individual SWF files? I'm trying to create one SWF file per slide for use in a customized webcast application. I want to go the SWF route versus exporting a series of JPGs or PNGs so I can support any size browser window. Impress does a great job of converting all of powerpoint's text into true vector shapes within the SWF
I've installed Open Office and I found a macro online for Impress that seems to do the trick. But when Impress creates the SWF files, by default it has a huge hit area over all of the slides. Is there a way to get around this?
UPDATE: Several folks have suggested taking a look at FlashSpring. The free, lite, version seems to do the trick but only exports one, bundled SWF. They have a $149 pro version, but I'm trying to keep this project on a certain budget, i.e. free. :-)
Why don't you use Flash Paper?
Alternative way can be import the slides into Captivate.
Will using Captivate preserve the vector shapes of the text in powerpoint? I'm aiming for something that will give me true SWF files that are resolution independent, versus a SWF that has a bit mapped image in it.
I will look at Flash Paper. Can it be purchased on its own, separate from Contribute?
