Lightbox is my daily photo weblog featuring abstract and not-so-abstract images taken from my daily life. It's built and managed on Movable Type 3.12 and is built as a subset of my daily text blog: stevesmart.com
My name is Steve Smart and I live in Hermitage Tennnessee, a small community about 10 miles to the East of Nashville, TN.
I decided to start Lightbox since I am a recovering Photojournalist. Well, maybe recovering is too strong of a word. I would say, rather, that I am a former photojournalist now a video and multimedia producer who oftens gets nolstalgic for past days of newspaper deadlines and photographic creative output. Hence, Lightbox.
Which is not to say that the photos published here will be strict journalistic in nature. Quite often they will be wacky bizarre attempts at creative expression with horizon lines that are rarely straight. Or they could be. Who can say?
Steve Smart is a motion graphics designer, filmmaker, father, husband, web geek, movie geek and more. More? Yes, he's also really into: running, cycling, movie soundtracks, photography, etc.
A graduate of Saint Xavier High School in Louisville and Western Kentucky University's award winning photojournalism program, he worked at several newspapers (including the Post-Crescent, the Courier-Journal, the Pueblo Chieftain and the Evansville Courier) before refocusing his career on multimedia development, web design and film and animation. Steve currently works for Deloitte as a multimedia developer.
