More night photography, this time of the Percy Priest Dam near our house just after sunset. Sidenote, this is the first night shoot where I was assisted by Stephen playing the role of "key grip." He found it all very exciting.
Still trying to learn more of the details about night photography, such as white balance settings, ISO, etc. I need to get the Canon TC-80N3 so I can do longer exposures, as now I'm limited to a 30 second max. Also, if you see the light streaks across the dam from car headlights, you will see one set that's a bit higher in the air. That's from an ambulance that crossed the road with lights and sirens on during this exposure.
The foreground rocks were illuminated by the flash on my little Canon s110 digital elph. I've pretty much given that to Stephen for him to play with. During these 30 seconds exposures I was having him take pictures of the rocks to paint that otherwise dark area with a bit of light.
This picture is sooooo gorgous! The colours in this shot are so rich and I definately agree that you, Steve, have got to do more night photograpgy. I think this shot really stands out from the rest I have seen on this site.
