Yellow Hills

This is a shot I made a week or so ago while scouting around for some fall color. I had actually intended for the focus to extend all the way to the tree on top of the hill. Looking at the image later, I realized my DOF was still a bit shallow. When adjusting the image I accentuated that fact a bit for style reasons.

Site News: I just added a thumbnail page that shows small versions of every image on this site. All of these are, of course, clickable allowing you to view the full-size image.

Very nice. I like the angle of the ground, and really like the change in color as you move up the tree.

Great composition on this. I agree that the angle is fantastic. Also like the depth of field. And don't even get me started on the colors.

Keep of the good work!

Very strange this shot! It seems like two shots combined and merged.

It's not, I promise. This shot was made with the camera sitting right in the grass amongst the leaves. The tree in the background is atop the hill and about 40 away. The narrow DOF let the tree go a bit of focus. I did a light bit of blur in Photoshop to accentuate the focus and lead your eye to the foreground leaves.
