Reactive

Stephen and I spend a 'boys day out' Saturday at the Adventure Science Center, where I snapped some quick photos of this device. I can't remember the name of this, I keep wanting to call it a Tesla Coil, but I know that's not it. It's basically a clear plexiglass sphere that you can rub your hand on and the electic arcs will attach themselves to your finger tips and your palm. Ideas, anyone?

UPDATE: I think it's a larger version of a nebula plasma ball.
