Paper Snowflakes

Before Christmas we cut out and hung paper snowflakes above our kitchen table. I kept planning to photograph them in some way and this is the first image that I really liked. This was taken at night with all the downstairs lights were off. The camera was on a tripod, f11 and a 10 second exposure. The long exposure wasn't really to increase the ambient light levels (there wasn't any!) but instead to give me time to run across the room and manually fire an old Nikon SB-24 right into the lens.

I like the effect you achieved here. It's a great way to showcase the snowflake.
