July 22, 2006 | Darren Aronofsky had been called the "new Kubrick" by execs at Warner Brothers, talk about pressure. That's along the lines of singer/songwriter being labeled the "new Dylan." The Fountain was first set up by Aronofsky as a $75 million epic staring Brad Pitt. When that fell through, he took a year off and reimagined the story into this $30 million "low budget" version starring Hugh Jackman. (link) (#)

July 6, 2006 | Oh, to be an intern at Pixar. While I was in college I did 4 internships (3 summers at a corporate in-house media center, 3 more summers at newspapers around the country. But wait, you say, doesn't that add up to 6 summers? It does, but that's another story) and none of them featured cupcake eating contests or a free swimming pool. I did however, get to fly in the CJ's Cessna 210 about 6 times.
UPDATE: apparently that link doesn't work anymore and the article if missing from Victor's homepage. I'm guessing that Pixar asked him to remove the post from his blog. They probably don't want to be associated with that sort of crazy cupcake sugar binging. (link) (#)
