November 30, 2006 | In a letter sent to theonering.net, Jackson discusses the current state of his lawsuit with New Line over revenue from the LOTR trilogy as well as negotiations around filming of The Hobbit. I think this is a great example of Jackson's class, as well as his saavy and ability to open up his filmmaking processes to his fans via the web. He really embraces the fans and their passion. I almost wonder if he's posting this letter in a way to generate some buzz in his favor. He does got to great lengths to explain that he wouldn't want to be forced to film the Hobbit as a result of litigation: "Deciding to make a movie should come from the heart - it's not a matter of business convenience. When you agree to make a film, you're taking on a massive commitment and you need to be driven by an absolute passion to want to get the story on screen. It's that passion, and passion alone, that gives the movie its imagination and heart. To us it is not a cold-blooded business decision." (link) (#)

November 8, 2006 | What they're up to is open for debate, but let's see what we've got here: The creators of the original FutureSplash, the creater of ActionScript, one of the arhitects of the Flash Player and the former head of engineering for Flash Media Server. Hmmm... I'm thinking something that's web-based and interactive possibly involving video streams. But that's just a guess. (also, don't forget to check out the other company founded by former Macromedians, MadCap Software. (link) (#)
November 7, 2006 | This is my single submission for the AIGA Polling Place Photo Project. I had to shoot my photos outside since I wasn't allowed to shoot inside while I waited to vote. It was very wet this morning in Hermitage during election day. (link) (#)
